If this past weekend's results are any indication of the season to come, fans of the USF Dons soccer team have a lot to look forward to this year. The Dons scored six goals in two games on their way to winning the Lotto-Umbro Classic, hosted by Loyola College of Maryland. Before a crowd of over 200 spectators, the Dons kicked off the 1995 season at Curley Field in Baltimore Friday night with a 3-0 defeat of Lafayette University. Chris "Mac" McDonald initiated the scoring 12 minutes before halftime, giving the Dons a much needed lead. Lafayette's hope for a comeback crumbled after Mike Hunter and Chris Bradley secured the win with two goals in the final eight minutes of play.

Regulation ended in a 1-1 tie, and the game headed into two fifteen minute overtime periods. The Bears scored first in regulation. Again, Jeramie Perez was able to get in behind the USF defense and finished off his second goal of the night. USF stepped up the pressure and won a penalty kick when Cal defender Ryan Fitzpatrick intentionally blocked a shot on goal with his hand. Hunter left no one in doubt as he blasted his shot in to the upper right corner (TheFoghorn).
