The next batter, Billy Bulanti hit a shot into left field to score Haberlin and trim the SMC lead to 3-4. Cass Fegan crushed a liner to Gael third base man Pat Genovese, who tagged pinch runner Tom Hinton, but dropped the ball. This allowed Taylor to score the tying run. Sophomore Justin Speier then grounded out to force extra innings. After a walk by Rodney Taylor and Mike Teijeiro reaching on an error, Sam Taylor's sacrifice fly scored McCaffery. Bill Bulanti later added two RBIs with a tripled to left-center. Pinch runner, Tom Hinton advanced to third on Bulanti's triple to set the stage for Fegan's two run shot to complete the game's scoring.
The Diamond Dons Saturday sweep of St. Mary's was marked by Gael histrionics (look it up yourself). Gael second baseman, the name is not important, threw a temper tantrum, reminiscent of a two-year-old, after dropping an easy pop fly. In the second game, Don center fielder Tom Hinton robbed St. Mary's center fielder (again, name not important) twice of extra base hits. Result: Another temper tantrum. Tom Hinton helped finish the Dons season with somewhat of a bang, by getting involved in a bench clearing brawl at St. Mary's (TheFoghorn).
