The men came home with their egos deflated and a new starting lineup against Humboldt State on Saturday, Sept. 21. There were new faces on the Field and familiar players in different positions. Not only did the team adjust to the unfamiliar system, but they redeemed themselves, chopping down the Lumberjacks 2-1. With 25 minutes into the match, Ola Tuntland scored USF's first goal and his third of the season off a pass from Dave Morante. 55 minutes later, Zack Taylor Zack Tav,or stripped the ball from a Lumberjack defender and nailed a 20-yard shot into the back of the net for a 2-0 Don lead. The Dons defense suffered a breakdown as the Lumberjacks scored one minute after Taylor's goal. Humboldt continued to pound the goal but the Dons pulled it together in the last 10 minutes and broke up Humboldt's scoring opportunities. The men walked away with a 2-1 victory to raise their record to 7-1 (TheFoghorn).
