Robert Brizuela attended St. Ignatius High School where he played football, soccer, and track. He was also an Uplift Volunteer for the Summer Elementary Tutoring and Sports Program.

At USF, he ran track and cross country, and played Intramural Basketball. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, the Track Club, the Hawaiian Club and Treasurer for their Annual Luau. He was also a Cheerleader. He graduated in 1988 with a Bachelors in Management.
