The pitching staff, composed of two fine left-handers, Sam Curtin and Dick La Bourdette will bolster the varsity in 1948. Both men have come developed considerably and shown enough to be adjudged good prospects. Curtin and La Bourdette each had a four and two average. The outfield composed of Al Masio, Bob Jones, Ernie Del Simono, Vince Gianni, and Poto Lomorri supplied the hitting power for thc Hilltop juniors.Â
Steve Negoesco, from Rumania, holds down the left halfback slot. Steve, much sought after by Eastern schools, is an exceptional ball-hander. He is flanked by Vince Gianni, youthful star from Galileo who was chief man on offense, as well as defense, on the Don squad last year (TheFoghorn).
