Nicole Grubbs, was a 5'10” swing player from Long Beach Poly High School who played basketball for the Dons for four seasons. She graduated in 1994.

The Broncos took a 40-28 lead into the locker room and maintained a double-digit lead for most of the second half. The Dons cut the lead to 46-38 on a layup by Alexandra Jurasin with 14:53 to play, but Santa Clara responded with six straight points, to take a 52-38 lead. After a baseline jumper halted the SCU run, Colette Chiamparino drained a big three-pointer from well beyond the arc, giving the Broncos a 15-point cushion. Touli led the Dons with 15 points and five assists. Phelps scored 13, including 44 from the line. After the Santa Clara game, Phelps had made 22 straight free throws, and looked to extend that number last night. Nicole Grubbs came through again, scoring 10 points and ripping down a game-high 12 rebounds in just 21 minutes. "Nicole did a really nice job for us," commented Hile-Nepfel (TheFoghorn).
