The USF linksters enjoyed another terrific season as Head Coach Dick Nicolopulos guided USF to its fourth consecutive West Coast Athletic Conference championship.
The WCAC Championship was held at Half Moon Bay Golf Links. The Dons won the team competition with a combined score of 934. USF’s Robert Bonio finished with the second best overall score, firing a 16 over par 232, for the three day event.

Coach Nicolopulos feels that his golfers can place in the top five in Hawaii. "A lot depends upon our confidence. There will be a tremendous amount of pressure," the coach said. The USF players will include Jay Walkinshaw, Jim Foster, Bob Bonino, Pat Stalteri, and Kyle Ziepf. "If Walkinshaw can place in the top ten, then we have a chance at the top five," said Nicolopulos (TheFoghorn).

The 1982-1983 Golfing Dons enjoyed a successful year. The defending league champions, led by first year coach Richard Nicolopolus, represented USF in many tournaments throughout the year. The team was also able to travel extensively, including a trip to Hawaii. The captain of this fine group of golfers is Senior George Price (TheDon).

Stalteri earned his Degree in Hotel, Motel and Restaurtant Management in 1986. He currently works at Stalteri & Associates in San Mateo.
