Jim Ryan has been doing a great job as USF backfield coach in developing many reserves into prominent varsity contenders. Dick Huxley; fullback Jim Whitney, Gene Chess, and Jim Boggan have startled the crowds with their hustle and drive.
The teams have been matched as evenly as possible for this Don's Day fray, but as the "Green" coach Bud Kerr stated, anything can happen. First string quarterback Ed Brown is spearheading Kerr's offensive thrust, and will receive superb support from Ollie Matson, All-Coast fullback for the last two years, and Vince Sakowski and Gene Chess, a 5-foot 8-inch, 163- pound soph speedster (TheFoghorn).
