This athletic season has been one of great change for USF. Teams such as Women's Volleyball and Women's Tennis were represented by mostly inexperienced freshman. A few years and these teams should be competing very strongly in the West Coast Conference. As an example, the Women's Volleyball team was comprised of six freshman out of their nine players, and ended their embarrassing season with one victory in 30 tries and no conference wins. As these players mature and come to play together as a team, these numbers will continue to improve. This seems to be the ongoing theme of USF sports: start young and build the teams into contenders. But, this means that fans will have to wait every three to four years for every team to contend (TheFoghorn).
