Ryan Evangelho played Junior college baseball at College of San Mateo where he was a catcher. He earned a scholarship to the University of San Francisco and played his junior year under Rich Hill and his senior year under Nino Giratano. Once he graduated with his BA in Communication in 2001, he quickly moved to Sacramento taking a High School coaching job at River City High School.

Evangelho came to the Sierra College in Rocklin, CA in 2003 as an Assistant Coach. Evangelho was quickly enlisted to run the wolverine offense and work with catchers. He was also in charge of recruiting student-athletes to a school that was not known for baseball at the time. The wolverines quickly proved how good they were winning over 300 games in a 10 yr span. In 2008 the wolverines captured the prestigious State Title and set a school record with 39 wins. They defeated 4-time state champion Riverside Community College and Southwestern College of Chula Vista twice - including the winner take all state final game by the score of 6-2.

In 2013 Evangelho took over as the interim Head Coach at Sierra. The Wolverines had an amazing season by winning the Big 8 Conference Championship. Sierra had three players voted to the All American team. Evangelho was named Coach of the Year.

In 2014 Evangelho decided to take the job as Head coach at Yuba college where he was for 6 season’s. In only his second year he broke a 49-year playoff drought and took Yuba college baseball to the playoffs.

In 2021 Evangelho was hired back to become the Head coach at Sierra college.

2022 Evangelho lead his team to another playoff birth with a very young wolverine club that finished the year 22-17 but would learn how to play wolverine baseball and carry that into 2023.  Coach Evangelho was named Nor-Cal Coach of the year in 2023 (SierraCollegeAthletics).
