A native of San Francisco, Gil Kuhn, Jr., was a member of the Honor Guard Alpha Pi Omega, the Order of the Royal Snakes, and graduated in 1965 in Psychology. 

The Petterle-led offense was 232 total yards, with Ed Kuebrich and Gasparini leading eight Don ballcarriers on the ground. USF moved 29 yards in six plays midway in the first quarter with score coming on a 14 yard pass from Petterle to split-end Gil Kuhn and the rout was on. In the second quarter it was Petterle to Kuhn again, this time for eight yards and six more points (TheFoghorn).
