VIC GUINASSO

It has been said that Vic Guinasso has been what the USF baseball program is all about. Unable to play at other colleges, Vic has been given the opportunity to develop at USF: learning pitching skills and becoming a keen competitor in the Benedetti tradition. Guinasso is no token performer either. He has put several wins together while taking the Hill for USF and although failing at times, he never quits. He has also doubled as the team trainer and become a friend of everyone on the team with his love for baseball and friendship for others.

Behind the arm of Vic Guinasso, the Dons bounced back to triumph, 5-3. It was Guinasso's best performance for the Dons, winning his first collegiate complete game facing only 26 men and giving only five hits and two earned runs. In the fifth inning, the Dons took a 3-2 lead on only one hit.

The Dons scored two more in inning six. Leadoff batter Tom Lountbus singled to center and was sacrificed by Mitch Kim. After Dennis Carmassi singled to left, Kevin Keating added another single and the Guinasso hadall he needed (USFFoghorn).
