Christine Vaccaro of Hastings High School in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, has verbally committed to play for Sue Rojcewiez and the Dons next season. Vaccaro was named All League, All County, and team MVP in both her junior and senior years at Hastings. At 6-1. Vaccaro will be asked to fill one of the iwo forward spots left vacated by the graduations of Melissa Melton and Lisa Daughtrey. Vaccaro plans to major in Business.
Adding strength to the USF frontline will be sophomore Chris Vaccaro, who had a solid freshman campaign which saw her average 5.3 points a game in just over 17.0 minutes of playing time each game last season. USF 6-3 back-up center Theresa Podesta will also be sidelined until the first of the year with an injury. Corder is USF second Nor-Pac "Athlete of the Week" this year, the other being K.T. Argys. who was named Nor-Pac's cross-country runner of the week in September. The Dons now have four players on the injured list: Terri Hum, Theresa Podesta, Chris Vaccaro, and K.T. Argys. All are expected back after January 1st. USF will be back home Friday night. December 21, against Hawaii (TheFoghorn).
