Ample reinforcement is lent by the successful freshmen club of last year with the appearance of guards Dave Ahern and Milan Metikosh, and forward Frank Sobek and Ward Healey. Outstanding transfers are two lanky centers and a husky guard. They are six-foot six-inch Don Lofgren who gained All-Junior College laurels at Grant Junior College in Sacramento, six-foot nine-inch Walt Olson, who played freshman basketball at Long Island University, and Jerry Hennessy. Lofgran may prove to be exactly the lift the team needs in the scoring column. With a schedule ahead that includes such highly rated basketball powers as CCNY, Kansas State, North Carolina State, La Salle, and Oregon, the Hilltoppers face a season which, if endured successfully, will niche the Dons high in the realms of national recognition (TheFoghorn).
