Nick Dimitrievski played soccer for the Dons from 1985-1989. He has led the Bryant & Stratton College soccer program for 23 years, beginning in the 1998 season. A SUNY Morrisville alum, Dimitrievski holds scoring numerous scoring records at both Morrisville and Liverpool High School.Â
His tenure at Morrisville led to the University of San Francisco where he served as team captain in 1985. He would play professionally for the San Francisco Black Hawks (WSL) in addition to serving as a regular member of the National and Regional Olympic Development Pool through college and beyond. As a well-recognized figure in Central New York soccer, Dimitrievski represented his region in the Empire State Games from 1983-1995.
His coaching tenure with the Bobcats includes a 277-47-6 record, 11 regional and seven district championships. Dimitrievski has contributed to the athletic and academic careers of 32 Academic and 36 Athletic All-Americans over the past 23 years. The Bobcats have remained a perennial powerhouse which includes the 2001 NJCAA National Championship (newyork.bscbobcats.com).
The Dons had a strong recruiting year to make up for the loss of these key players. USF landed one of the country's most sought after players in defender Troy Dayak, a member of the national youth team. Also new to the team are freshman forwards Zack Taylor and John Mora, freshman defenders Ken Folan and Mike Dingle, and junior college transfer Marquis White. Seniors Tim McEnery and Yuri Simpson are captains on the Dons this year. McEnery returns as the only Don to start all 21 games last season. "His teammates will look for a great deal of leadership from Tim," says Negoesco. Simpson will anchor an extremely strong back-line and returns after missing the latter part of 1988 due to an injury. Defenders Joe Dugan and John Kinyon, and forward Nick Dimitrievski arc the other seniors on the squad (TheFoghorn).
