Coach Corbelli will also have her team undertake a comprehensive strengthening program this Fall, but with a young team this is not unusual. Recruiting talented athletes with a limited scholarship budget is by far her most difficult task. Her visibility as a member of the 1984 Olympic Team will help. She knows key people in the volleyball hotbeds of Southern California, Illinois, and her home state of Texas. She even has her husband, Ron, a San Jose St. Assistant Coach and Chief Recruiter, looking for athletes that would fit in at USF, but are not good enough for the selective Spartans. So has it been frustrating for Corbelli to go from the heights of 1984 Olympics to being the only one of her teammates to undertake the tedium of Division I head coaching.
