Raffi Kardzair attended Saint Ignatius High School, and played as a Dons goalkeeper at USF from 1990 to 1992. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Politics. That same year he started as a Goalkeepers Coach at Cal Berkeley. His brother Aram was a top goalie for the Dons in the 1980s and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Raffi Kardzair is currently a Senior Supervision Principal at Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles.
Raffi Kardzair, whose brother Aram starred in the goal spot in the early eighties, hopes to do the same a decade later. Starting in his first game here at USF, he needed to make but one save, yet handled the role well in quarterbacking the entire squad for all 90 minutes.
Against LMU, goalies Scott Thompson and Raffi Kardzair shared the shutout, each having to make just one save. After the rude awakening by UCLA's power on Sunday, the Dons still remain atop nearly every team statistic category in the WCC (TheFoghorn).
