Salvador Diaz was a native of El Salvador, 5' 11", and was a Sociology major. He was a back up defender and played goalie.
Perhaps the person that had the most to prove was the USF starting goalie, Salvador Diaz. He was coming off three consecutive bad outings. Prior to the Stanford game he had allowed balls to literally roll past him into the goal in both the Berkeley and the Fresno State games. Perry Fedje showed why he should be starting as he scored the first goal for the Dons, giving them a 1-0 half- time lead. In the second half Alex Nwosu put the game away for the Dons and they never looked back. It was Salvador Diaz's third shut-out of the season and it couldn't have come at a more opportune time (TheFoghorn).
