A native of San Francisco, Elmer F. Sprague graduated in Accounting in 1950. He was a member of the Sodality CLub, and served in the U.S. Navy.

Born in San Francisco on March 5, 1927, Sprague was an automobile dealer in Northern California and San Diego for many years. He was a 40 year member of the Kiwanis Club, supporter of Aztec Athletic Foundation of SDSU and former member of San Diego Golf and Country Club (SDUnion-Tribune).
