Two-time letter winner for Men's Crew

Biography: Riehl was a two-time letter winner for the men's crew team. He helped start the USF Crew Team in 1983 after the men's basketball program had been suspended. The team initially rowed out of the Police Athletic League boathouse in Hunters Point, before moving over to UC Berkeley's boathouse. They were the rookies in the league with some very well established and well funded competitors. The Dons crew team quickly began to hold their own in the tournaments and Western Regional Finals.

Why Riehl Chose USF: “I chose USF for family tradition, as both of my older brothers attended USF as well. There is something unique about the Hilltop.”

Favorite USF Memories: “We had a great group of guys that formed the core of the team. We still get together once or twice a year to enjoy and relive the USF days.”

The USF Student-Athlete Experience: “The pride of representing your school and the bonds created with teammates.”

Life After USF: Aside from having a great career in business, Riehl has been married for 33 years, and has four children and two grandkids.
