Hoops...Did anybody happen to catch those Pacific Sports Network commercials that used a clip of our own Kevin Ellis coppin' a sweet jam? It was nice seein' a Don gettin' big-time exposure. Speaking of hoops, be sure to check out Nov. 12th's pre-season game against Nashua-Den Bosch of Holland. There's plenty o' reasons to go: Kevin Ellis, Shawn Sykes, Kevin Bell, Scott McWhorter, and the rowdy cheering section (which is prone and known to chant "PAAA-GANS, PAAA-GANS" when we play non-Catholic schools), for starters. And if you don't like basketball, you can watch the cheerleaders.
It was text-book basketball. Besides MacDonald, many of those plays came from point guard Kevin Bell, who led the team with seven assists and grabbed eight rebounds, second only to the big man MacDonald. Bell was four for four from the line down the stretch, and his smooth handling of Brovelli's offense was a key factor as well. Bell committed only one turnover in his 36 minutes of action, and the Dons as a team lost the ball only eight times. Compare that to the Anteaters 21 blunders and you've got yourself a victory (TheFoghorn).
