Dave Hoffman had the misfortune to play behind bill Garcia last year, who was an All League outfielder. This year, Dave should get his share of playing time.

The Dons appeared to be on the verge of capturing their first victory of the year against SF State Tuesday. Leading 5 to 4 going into the bottom of the ninth, USF blew its lead on three hits and a throwing error, which allowed the winning run to score. The one positive result of the game was that the Dons finally scored some runs. In the fifth inning, Dave Hoffman walked and scored on Gary Senn's double to left, thus ending a twenty-nine inning scoring drought. The hit was one of three for Senn during the afternoon.

Junior Gary Senn prepares to make contact with a high hard one thrown in a recent Don varsity baseball encounter. State's inept defense, seven errors, including three in a five-run fifth inning, helped USF score five unearned runs. Dave Hoffman's double produced the only RBI, driving home Bob Turner, who bunted for a hit (TheFoghorn).
