In the collegiate ranks, the Missouri Valley Conference claimed the most Dons with remaining eligibility. Bob St. Clair, outstanding end on the USF undefeated eleven of last Fall, is being labeled an All-American tackle candidate for Tulsa University of the Valley Conference. The 6 ft. 6 in. San Franciscan who transferred to the Oklahoma college last spring has one remaining year of eligibility. With St. Clair on the Hurricane squad are Harmon Welsh. 215-pound tackle, and John Dwyer, 195, a guard.

While the backfield performed well, it was the hard-charging Don-let line which repeatedly dropped the Broncos for losses, that deserved great praise. In addition to Helms, who scored the first touchdown, Manuel Gomes, James DeBernardi, Lou Simas, Roy Bruna, Tim Moriarty, John Dwyer, Larry Slajcert, Bob Schaeffer, Frank Monti, Tom Montero and Ray Brown all performed yeoman duties in stopping the vaunted Bronco running attack (TheFoghorn).
