Dons second in rifle match: The USF Varsity Rifle squad took second place to UCLA in the National Rifle Association Western Sectionals. The match, fired on March 19 on the Cal Berkeley campus, gave the Don marksmen their revenge over Cal Davis, who has beaten them in league matches twice. The Aggies were edged out by one point. Each of the team members and the coach received a medal for their superb firing. Fifth-year returnee Tom Lee led the team with a 289 out of a perfect .300. Seniors Joel Traylor (288) and Dennis Belletto (285) were close on his heels. Junior Gary Menino, rounded out the foursome with a 283, bringing the team total to 1145 (TheFoghorn).
