Harold Sandell

  • Class
    1952
  • Honors
    Baseball (1949-1952), Men's Basketball (1949)
Harold Sandell was a native of Spokane, WA and graduated with a Bachelor's in Business in 1952.  He played basketball his freshman year, and baseball all four years. He was a member of the Sanctuary Society and was President of Alpha Sigma Nu his senior year.

Such men as Pat O'Shea, Sandy Sandell, Bill Sullivan and Norm McKenzie have all been improving steadily and should show up well for the varsity next year.

A large turnout of 27 hopefuls greeted Head Coach Pete Newell's call for freshman baseball talent, last Monday on the Hilltop diamond. With many scheduled workouts curtailed because of the persistent bad weather, little progress has been made thus far. The short glimpses afforded, however, have shown some quality among the first-year men. Included in the lot are three catchers, six pitchers, eight infielders, and ten outfielders. Infielders of note are Hal Sandell of Spokane, Washington, and Eddie Rommel from Milwaukee both plugging for the shortstop job (TheFoghorn).
