The USF men's cross country team turned in its strongest performance of the season this past weekend at the WCAC championship meetings, its last competition of the year. Although the team finished only sixth out of eight teams, all of the Don runners set either personal or seasonal records. Held at St. Mary's College in Moraga, the championship meet featured 58 runners from the conference. Julian Whatley led all USF runners as he covered the 6.2 mile course in a personal record time of 32:59. Sophomore Mark Foraker also set his personal record as he finished with a time of 35:14. Whatley and Foraker placed 11th and 26th respectively.

The weather was hot and the course's hills were longer and steeper than they were in Fresno, but still, the top USF men's times showed improvement. Julian Whatley was in the thick of the battle for first during the beginning four miles, but lost the pace after a brief directional miscalculation. He managed only fifth place, while improving his time by thirteen seconds from the Fresno race to 34:49 (TheFoghorn).
