Don hurler John Pacchetti allowed only three hits and two earned runs in the nightcap but USF missed an opportunity in the fifth inning, only coming up with one run.

In the pitching department, the Dons rely on the arms of John Pacchetti and Jim Ross who carry 5-3 and 4-3 won-loss records respectively. Pacchetti also carries a low 2.43 earned run average (best on the staff) with Ross at 2.95. Both pitchers have completed a combined total of 12 of their 14 starts.

John Pacchetti pitched a brilliant game in the opener, only to lose in the last inning 3-2. The contest went scoreless until the sixth when Reno tallied once countered by a Don run in the seventh on Kevin Keating's double.

Pacchetti came from Menlo College two years ago to pitch in his hometown once again. His leadership on the mound staff has been the key to many a Don win over the oast wo years. His brilliance in pitching has resulted in several hit draughts for opponents. Although his record has been a bit below the 500 mark, his leadership has provided some sanity especially among the other Don wrestlers (TheFoghorn).
