Green and Gold scoring ended two sets of downs later. U.C.R.'s Jim White fumbled on his own 8, and Coby Dunn fell on it at the 2 for first and goal-Good Guys. Part of the credit for this score must go to Bill Schmitt, for it was his 65 yard quick kick that put Riverside in the hole. At any rate, Wanlin and Rick Figoni split the 2 yards on two rushes with the sophomore halfback piling in for 27-0. Sparks, as per usual, split 'em for 28.

The Don defense, rising to the occasion despite the absence of two stalwarts—Ken Pitetti .and Ralph Navarro, dominated the third period. Interceptions by Dennis Hall and Rich Talaga thwarted all of Claremont's thrusts. Meanwhile the frightful running of DiRicco was setting up scoring bursts of 1 and 8 yards by Wanlin and Bill Schmitt (TheFoghorn).

Schmitt graduated in Sociology in 1970.
