Samia Zamzam played two sports at USF: rowing, and cross country.

On April 15, the University of San Francisco crew team could be found racing Santa Barbara City College at the Oakland Estuary. The positions of Jim Beasely ( two man) and Will Martin (Fourth man) were switched so that Mike Dakan and Martin could now be in the power positions. It was a 2,000 meter race. The boats were tied during most of the race, but USF pulled through to win by one second, despite Dakan's loss of an oar three strokes before the finish. The following weekend, the crew team traveled to Lake Merritt. There they met six other boats to race 1,000 meters. Dakan and Martin were out with injuries. Although they lost their race, a returning Byron Adams called it, "A building experience for Newport the next weekend." At the Newport Rowing Regatta, Martin was back at stroke, Adams at three man, Beasely at two man, and Josh Bligh at bow. The team had "awesome practices" as Sammy Zamzam stated and peaked for their race at Newport. The race included Santa Clara, Orange Coast College, UC Santa Barbara, University of California Irvine, and Santa Barbara City College. USF was third overall and raced a 7:03, the fastest time in team history.
