On Halloween morning in Belmoni, CA, both the men and women's teams finished seventh at this year's league meet. The highest finisher for the Dons was 13th place for junior Alyson Carr. Last year, Carr represented USF at the Regionals, but just missed the cut this year by 22 seconds. Said Carr, "I ran a tough race, but there were just too many good runners. I didn't have as good a time as last year, I'm not disappointed, though. The team's great, coaches are super. "The team as a whole did well under the circumstances. We're very young, but we're on the right track."
There is much enthusiasm and spirit behind Alyson Carr's words as she talks of USF and her decision to come to this university. She explained how she visited the school on a soccer recruiting trip. "I realized that on this campus everyone is doing something different and you can find your niche. This is the type of school where I can grow." Since coming to USF, Carr has been involved in numerous organizations and clubs. She has played women's soccer for the past two years and she ran cross-country last year. Besides sports, Carr has participated in the ASUSF Senate, serving as freshman and sophomore class presidents. This year, Carr is part of the Erasmus project and has been actively involved with the Forum for International and Domestic Affairs (FIDA). She has also found Campus Ministry and the Ignatians program to be an important outlet for expressing her concern for others. When she is not studying, Can- likes to go jogging, experience city life, and simply "hang out with friends." Carr believes that her time at USF is an important one and has enjoyed the activities that have resulted from her involvement in ASUSF. She explained that she has been very happy serving as her class president for the past two years (TheFoghorn).
