The third day of competition opened with Dick Miller leading the pack with 10.5. Scheid, not to be denied of victory, turned in a world record of 111 to win the tournament. However, the first 25 pennies of his stack were found to be glued together, and an investigation is currently under way. Final standings went as follows: "No Cents Scheid," 111; Dick Miller, 108; Jim Leahey, competing as an amateur, 101; Bowman Olds, 97; Old Pro Bobby Neilan, 87; and poor little Jimmy Ford, 13. Added Note: Jim Leahey, defensive guard on the football team, holds the world championship super-barbarian title obtained by making the most coeds cry. traveled to Chico State and ran in a triangular meet with Sacramento State and Chico. Making the trip were only six athletes but the USF'ers managed to pull out two first and two thirds to score 12 points against some fine competition (TheFoghorn).
