DON KEYSTONE CONBINATION TWIN KILL—John Dunn, the Dons ace shortstop, flips underhand to Pete Maloney, dependable second sacker, to initiate a double play. Their sparkling work around the keystone sack finally paid off as they were instrumental in downing California. Not pictured is the receiving end of their relays, Hal Sandell, rang first baseman. Eddie Rommel is the fourth man in the crack infield that will open against College of the Pacific.

USF, however, showed improvement in their hitting. They managed to tag the Bear ace, Anderson, for eleven singles, all of which were solidly hit. Lou Marietta and John Dunn, the scrappy shortstop, bagged two hits apiece. Ed Rommell almost put the Dons back into the ball game in the ninth inning, when he blasted a three run circuit clout. But by that time, Anderson had too much of a lead for the fighting Dons to overcome. Bob Henderson, Al Davies, and Ralph Bennett were the lumber stars for the Bears. The three of them got to Townsend for three well hit home runs (TheFoghorn).
