    Men's Golf ()
A native of Santa Rosa, Michael Joseph Collum graduated in 1970 with a Degree in International Business. He was a member of the Gridiron Club and played golf for the Dons all four years.

The golf team had four of its top six players back from the 1967 season. Senior letterman Bill Reid was outstanding in the early season matches, while Mark Avelar, Mike Collum, Jakes Montez, and John Zimmerman showed promise of providing top notch support. 1968 was the first year that the NCAA has allowed freshmen to play, with the varsity, and USF was fortunate to have freshmen Pat Murphy and Jon Jew, who showed signs of taking over the number two or three spot on the team. The '68 schedule was the toughest yet, with matches against Fresno State, San Diego State, Stanford, Brigham Young University, as well as the usual WCAC teams. The Golf team competed in three tournaments, considered by some to be the three best in the West: the Far Western Invitational, United States Collegiate Tourney, and the Western Intercollegiate Tournament (TheFoghorn).
