Pete Wolf showed no sign of ill effects from the severe knee injury which kept him out of action all last year. Wolf cavorted at inside, showing the same agility that earned him All-Conference recognition in 1956. In a preliminary game, the USF JV soccer team downed the scrappy St. Ignatius High School team, 2-0. Joe Granados and Boris Yaksic scored the goals for the JVs. Joe Granados scored twice and John Landolfi once for the JVs. Roy Repeck scored for the Wildcats. Varsity goalie Jim Bednar coaches the Wildcat soccer team. Following the varsity-alumni tussle, USF hosted a soccer clinic for high school students. Coach Donoghue and several varsity veterans were on hand to explain and demonstrate the techniques of winning soccer (TheFoghorn).
