On the the first play after the fumble, quarterback Petterle called for a roll-out pass, and just as he began his flight around right end, he hit fullback George Hauser who was all alone on the Menlo 10. From there Hauser went in for the touchdown. Petterle's 2 point PAT was good and the Dons were back in the ball game at 16-8. Head Coach Sarge McKenzie" feels that his team came came out of its first game in very good shape. Except for fullback George Hauser, who is nursing a bruised kidney, and hard driving half back. Maybe you remember when Doug Hauser didn't have a black eye or a broken leg or something .(TheFoghorn).
George Douglas Hauser was a native of Berkeley, CA and was a member of the Pep Band, and the Block Club and graduated in 1965 in Marketing.Â
