Christopher Lee Thogersen was born on February 5, 1979 and attended Newbury Park High School in Van Nuys, CA. At 6' 5", 210 lbs., he batted and threw right. After USF, he pitched for Cal Lutheran University. 

Freshman pitcher Chris Thogersen (1-0) got the first win of the season for the Dons, giving up four runs on seven hits in 5 innings. USF fell behind 8-5" in the sixth inning after jumping out to a 5-1 lead, but San Francisco tied the game with a run in the seventh and two in the ninth. The rally sent the game into extra innings and set up Hurtado's heroics in the tenth. USF struggled in the final game of the series with a 5-2 loss to the Rainbows on Jan. 18. Outfielder Jeff Pritchard went 2 for 4 with one RBI to pace the Dons. Paul Deffner received the loss after giving up three runs on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings. On Tuesday Jan. 20, freshman Gregg Omori drove in three runs for the Dons en route to a 6-1 drubbing of Hawaii-Hilo in the first game of the double-header. Buller (1-1) pitched seven innings with three strikeouts to get the win and improved San Francisco's record to 2-2. In the second game, Jeremy Holiday (1-0) and Chris Gossert combined for USF's first shutout of the season, 2-0. Holiday threw seven scoreless innings, giving up only four hits. On Wednesday, Omori came through again for USF, going 2 for 3 with two RBI to pace the Dons in an 8-7 win over UH-Hilo in the first game of a double-header. Keali'i Lum also contributed with one RBI while going 2 for 2 at the plate. Jeff Bowman (1-0) picked up his first win of the season, going four innings and giving up five runs on six hits. Pritchard and first basemen Taggert Bozied both went 2 for 4 with Bozied driving in one run for USF in a 6-4 win. Gossert (1-0) snagged the win for the Dons in the fourth and final game of the series, giving up one hit in 1 1/3 innings after Thogersen went 6 2/3 innings (TheFoghorn).
