Paced by Oakland City Champion John Fry, USF's golf team has lost four close matches to City College, San Francisco State and Portland State College over the past few weeks. Fry, who has carded a sparkling 69.6 average in play for the Dons thus far, has been aided by second high scorer Ray Healy, who has been hitting a respectable 75 mark. Neither Fry or Healy have lost a match this season. Ed Wagner has also been an aid to the Green and Gold cause. He recently got into the fourth flight at Pasatiempo. Other golfing Dons are Ron Avanzino, Len Caligary, Mark Sullivan and Jack Mulgrew (TheFoghorn).
Jack Mulgrew was a native of Oakland, and graduated in 1955 in Marketing. He was in Company L of ROTC, the Marketing Club, and Intramural Basketball.Â
