"Rod Williams was born too soon. As a long-distance shooter for the Hillsdale High basketball team in the early 1970s, he became one of the highest-scoring preps in San Mateo County in the era before the thee-point shot was created. An all-around star, he scored nearly 30 points per game in hs senior season and more than 1,200 points in his Hillsdale career. He went on to play for the University of San Francisco. At one point during his USF tenure, the Dons were unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in the U.S (SanMateoCountySportsHOF)."
