David G. Lee was on born March 31, 1942, in Modesto, CA. Lee attended the University of San Francisco where he was drafted during the seventh round (59th pick overall) of the 1964 NBA draft by the San Francisco Warriors, but he never played for them. He played basketball for the Donsa from 1961 to 1964, and baseball 1962 to 1964. He was a small forward who played two seasons in the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a member of the Oakland Oaks (1967–1968) and the New Orleans Buccaneers (1968–1969).

It was Bob Garibaldi's tip-in, jump shot, and 2 free throws that opened our sister Jesuit campus lead to 20-13 at the half. But it was all Santa Clara in the first 3 minutes of the second half, as they stretched their lead to 11 points, 27-16. But the Dons caught fire on 2 buckets by Dave Lee, one by Brovelli, 2 free throws by Gaillard, a free throw by Lloyd Moffatt, and finally a jump shot by Gaillard, to bring the Dons only to within 2 points with 8:57 left, 30-28 (TheFoghorn).

Now that the basketball season has drawn to a close, several basket dunkers have turned horsehide-tossers. Joining the pitching staff is center Dave Lee (TheFoghorn).
