Ralph Pierpont was expected to be a standout on the Freshman basketball team, but injuries plagued him all season.  He was an All-American in high school.

Shifting to the frosh front line, which averages an awesome 6-7, we have Ralph Pierpont (6-7) at forward. Ralph, who received prep All-American mention at Righetti High in Santa Maria last year, is a well-rounded ballplayer, equally tough at both ends of the court. The muscular Pierpont shoots well outside, and also displays a wide variety of moves on the post. An aggressive rebounder, Rick is one of the squad's better defensive players.

Ralph Pierpont also played his best game of the budding season, netting twenty-two points and hitting the boards for sixteen rebounds (TheFoghorn).
