In addressing their lack of depth in the front line and the loss of three-point shooters Scott McWhorter and James Bell to graduation, Brovelli added Darrin Anderson, Alvin Brown, and Tomas Thompson to his growing stable of young talent. Also coming to the Hilltop next year will be early signed Kelon Haynie. Haynie and Anderson are the latest products of what has become known as the Texas Pipeline. In shooting 61% for Kimball High in Dallas, the 6' 5" Haynie averaged 18.3 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game as a senior. As a national dunk contest winner, Haynie is touted as an exciting talent to watch. Anderson, a 6' 8" forward from Eastern Hills High in Fort Worth, led Tarrant County in rebounding with 16 per game, and also averaged 19 points and three blocked shots this year. Brovelli calls him "a very mobile, intelligent player." Anderson will graduate this spring with a 3.5 GPA (TheFoghorn).
