The Diamond Dons looked as if they might repeat the previous night's ninth inning rally as they stranded two in the final inning. Pinch-runner Bevilacqua was thrown out by SMC left fielder Demerius Pittman on for the final out of the game. The two brightest spots for the Dons in this trying 93 season would have to be the individual play of Billy Bulanti and Travis Walters. Bulanti, a 5-10 senior from Atherton, CA has strung together a very successful season, leading USF in just about every offensive category including batting average(.341), RBI(21), runs(14), walks (17), doubles (7), home runs (2), slugging (.460), and on base % (.425). The Diamond Don third baseman had hit safely in 8 straight prior to Sac State (0-3 with a walk) and had at least one hit in 17 of the last 19 contests (TheFoghorn).
