Runners from last year's team who decided not to run this year include: Cris Eger from Marin, consistently placing third to fifth in previous autumn races; Michelle Teal, a frequent Don number five herself; Ivy Lieu, believed to have transferred elsewhere; and Mary Jilka, perhaps the most talented runner of the bunch but, ironically enough, the least competitive succumbing to the (primary) pressures of academia (TheFoghorn).

A native of Concord, CA, Mary Jilke graduated in Nursing in 1981, and was a member of Embers, Sigma Theta Tau, and the Dean's Honor List.
