Robert S. "Ace" Adams was a native of Milwaukee, WI and played basketball his freshman year, and baseball his first three years. He was a member of the Block Club, the Sanctuary Club, and the Foghorn staff.  He graduated with a Bachelor's in English in 1951.

Jim Raser, captain of the Foghorn happened to be passing by and overheard Morenos' championship talk. Jim merely sneered and said, "You'll never dump the outfit we've got. No sir, not in a thousand years." He then went on to sing the praises of his Sodality Club and when finished, one might well think he had next year's varsity parading for him. At any rate he's "loaded" with material. The backfield is led by slinging Gene Sweeters, southpaw QB, who will be first-string material for the varsity next fall. Also in the back-field are Mike Scarpelli, Wayne Richards, Tony Pappara, George Jurisich, George Carley and Jack Greenhalgh. For ends he has Al Takacs, Jack Shields, Phil Treacy, Tom Butler, Harold Sandell, and Bob Adams, all experienced. Centers are Bob Weibel, Sid Levy and Joe Batchelder. Jim has terrific depth, the squad being 18-men strong, and all of them have played the game (TheFoghorn).
