Bob Ralls graduated from USF in 1962 with a Bachelor's Degree in English. He was Junior Class President, President of the Student Body Senior Year, Alpha Sigma Nu, and played basketball for the Dons for four years from 1958 to 1962. He earned a Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Francisco State University in 1965 and went on to a consulting business in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
The University of San Francisco's basketball future looked a little brighter to day with Frosh Coach Ross Guidice's announcement that several promising freshman cagers had begun practice. Heading the list is Bob Amauric, a 6-8, 235 pound center from Oakland High, where he was an All-League basketball and football player. Other big men are 6-7 forward Johnnie Johnson, an All-League player from Petaluma High, All-North Coast forward Bob Ralls (6-5) from Menlo Atherton High, and Bill Gallagher, another 6-5 forward who made All-North Bay League and All-Tournament of Champions while prepping at Drake High in San Anselmo.
With the opening of the second half, the Tigers began to see the basket, but again went into a cold streak and the USF five, under the dead-eye shooting of Ralls and lanky Hal Urban poured in the markers (TheFoghorn).
