Tony Perazzo picked up the win in relief, notching three scoreless, no-hit innings while recording three strike-outs. Junior George Kinard was impressive in his first appearance for the Dons, allowing just two runs on four hits through five innings.

LMU rebounded in Sunday's second game of the double header behind six innings of one-hit ball from Lion pitcher Swawn Hammet. LMU batsmen Anthony Napolitano and Andy Biaggi each recorded three RBI to down the Dons. The Lions took a comfortable 6-0 lead into the seventh inning in the night cap. USF charged back in the final inning, only to fall just short, 6-4. USF churned out four singles and a two-run double by Sophomore Jasun Speier to cut the six-run deficit to two. Hammet was able to regain his composure and strike out C.J. Martin, the potential tying run. Tony Perazzo look the loss for USF. The Diamond Dons and the Lions took the field on Monday to decide the three game series. USF couldn't quite muster enough power to defeat LMU, as they captured the series, two games to one (TheFoghorn).
