The Diamond Dons have depth in the outfield with juniors Dusty Steenvoorde and James Wiggins, and freshmen Anthony Skikos and Tom Hinton to back up the starting three.
Last year's freshman class president Anthony Skikos is a throwback from kinder, gentler times. For starters, he's involved in a Big Brother-type of program, to which he donates hours of his free time to help handicapped youngsters. He takes them to ballgames, movies, the zoo and other neat places, so the children don't miss out on any of the really good kid fun. He even brought one of them into our baseball clubhouse last year, and it was great to sec that big smile light up the youngster's face. And just when I was about to mail in my ballot nominating "Skeck" as thc nicest guy in the universe, I see him helping an elderly lady make thc long haul from the Foghom offices to Campus Ministry. The 20 yard trip took the two of them about five minutes at lhe woman's pace, but Anthony showed no signs of frustration, just a warm glowing smile that only comes when you're doing the right thing. What I like about this guy so much is that hc doesn't tell anyone about the things he does, so you know it isn't a front. Who says chivalry is dead (TheFoghorn)?
