Contending for the front line spots with Farley, Hogg and Burks, is 6-5 soph Ron Centerwall, who was a starter for the frosh who used eight men almost equally. Another hopeful is 6-1 Pat Loushin. Pat, another East Bay product, was second to Burks in both rebounding and scoring last year with an 11.5 points and 10.0 rebounds a game.

At the moment, the forward positions look like they are going to be manned by Burks and Centerwall. The center appears to be Pat Loushin, a 6-6 standout from San Leandro. The guards are 6-2 Dennis Dolan from SI and John Hancock, a 6-3 Walnut Creek product. But none of this is set. It is possible that the people manning these positions will be different, such is the type of players Gaillard has to work with. The young Dons will employ the standard man-to-man defense (TheFoghorn).
