This year's Don baseballers didn't set the world on fire but they did possess the most balanced club seen on the Hilltop in many a year.

After a rather poor start (winning only four of their first fourteen games), the Dons began to move, and beat such strong clubs as California. One of the high points of the season was a road trip to San Diego where they played the San Diego Navy. Improving with each game, the Dons finished the season with a 14-19 record and would have done much better with o stronger pitching staff.

The leading twirler on the team was Tony Bosquez who was named the Most Valuable Player by his teammates. The leaders in other departments were: Bill Ferroggiaro (355) and Stan Johnson (424) in hitting, Don Martini with the most RBIs, and Charley Myers in walks, stolen bases, times at bat and hits (TheDon).

Charles Myers was a native of Ukiah, CA and graduated in History in 1958. He was a member of the Block Club and played baseball for four seasons.
