GENERAL CAPSULE: Powerful right handed hitter... will be a leader on the team... good defensive catcher...can also pitch out of the bullpen... has 88-92 MPH fastball...great slider. He was drafted in 2007 by the Cleveland Indians in the 14th Round, (437th Overall).

AT USF (2006): Appeared in 46 games with 34 starts as a junior... hit first home run of the year at Cal(2/7)... was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run against SanJose State (2/14)... had two hits, an RBI and two runs against Georgetown (3/10)... homered and drove in two runs at New Mexico(3/18)... hit a towering three-run homer in the fourth inning of the Inaugural Dante Benedetti Classic at AT&T Park (4/25)...was 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored against UC Davis (5/2)... went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, two runs and a walk at Cal (5/9)... finished 2-for-4 with an RBI against Loyola Marymount (5/13)... collected a season high four hits against Hawai'i (5/16), with two doubles and three RBI. 

AT USF(2005): Appeared in 43 games and started 40... was second on the team with six home runs and fourth with 27 RBI... had a six-game hit streak in which he had nine hits, four RBI, three doubles, and one home run (3/4-9)... launched a two-run homer in the first game of the season at San Jose State (2/8)... went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored against UC Davis (2/23)... posted a 3-for-4 day with two doubles at Pacific (3/5)... hit first career grand slam in a 2-for-4, six RBI night at Portland (3/18)... added a 2-for-3 day with a homer against Portland (5/13).   

AT USF(2004): Appeared in 16 games and started four during freshman campaign... hit .316 in limited action... went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double versus Lafayette College (3/16).

PREP CAREER: Played three years of varsity baseball at McAteer High School and played his senior campaign atLincoln High School... before transferring after the closure of McAteer launched a titanic game-winning homer against his future school in 2002... hit .515 in 2003 as a senior catcher... had an 0.51 ERA as a closer in 2003... also played four years of basketball, averaging 17 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior. 

PERSONAL: Daniel Anthony Morales... goal for the season is to learn as much as possible and have it show through performance... chose USF for the baseball program and the education and small class sizes... the best advice I would give to young people is to look for the positive side in everything...favorite movie is Kings of Comedy... favorite book is The Great Gatsby... enjoys the music of Jagged Edge... favorite food is Mexican... would like to have a career as a team trainer... enjoys playing basketball in his spare time... mother is Denise Ohlssen...born on January 28, 1985.
